Before starting your trekking journey, we have set aside a day in Kathmandu to help you learn about the unique art, culture, and architecture of Nepal. You will be guided to the UNESCO-listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. First, you will be escorted to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can visit the museum, palace, its premises, and the temples built around it. Next, you will be escorted to the monkey temple – Swayambhunath. We walk up the stairs to the stupa. From the height, we can get an excellent view of Kathmandu city. Your drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani starts early in the morning. The journey begins with a well-maintained road as you leave Kathmandu. However, the starting segment of the drive includes some dusty and bumpy road conditions along with some scenic views of river valleys. The trek finally begins from Dharapani to Chame, which is well-marked, taking you through beautiful, lush landscapes. Your route navigates through a mix of stone paths and dirt trails, with spectacular surrounding views of mountains. The trail passes through dense forests of rhododendrons and pine trees, traversing along the Marsyangdii River, which offers you impressive views of river valleys. As you climb, the stunning views of mountains, including Manaslu and Annapurna II, make your journey worth it. You will be proceeding through several settlement areas, where you can get a glimpse of their traditional lifestyle and houses. The journey from Chame to Pisang begins as you navigate through the Manang Valley, which is well-maintained with some steady uphill climbs. As you ascend higher, you will get a clear view of the surrounding peaks, including Pisang and Gusang. The route passes through dense pine forests along the Marsyangdi River, where you get an opportunity to cross several suspension bridges. Making your way through areas like Bhratang and Dekhuri offers you the opportunity to learn and engage with the local traditions of the area. You get a spectacular view of towering Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Pisang Peak.
Making your journey from Pisang to Manang provides you with two route options divided into two parts: Lower Pisang and Upper Pisang. Navigating through the Upper Pisang offers you better views of the mountains, which can be challenging, or continue from the lower. From Pisang, the trail gradually ascends towards Manang, where you get to interact with the Tibetan Buddhists and visit several monasteries along the trail. The journey from Tilicho High Camp to Chauri Kharka begins with a descent through rocky mountain fields and steep slopes. You will be reaching the Mesokanto Pass, which requires more physical fitness and proper preparations. As you reach the pass, the real challenge starts as you start your descent towards the Chauri Khola. The trail can be rocky and steep, so you must be very careful to avoid slipping or injuring yourself. While you descend back the journey may be easier in comparison to ascending higher elevations
The trek from Chauri Kharka to Jomsom is challenging due to rocky and uneven trail conditions. As you navigate, the landscape changes from barren alpine terrain to greener, terraced fields, where you can witness pine forests and farmlands. The journey rewards you with stunning views of the Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri Peaks as you descend. Along the way, you make your way through small settlement areas along the Kali Gandaki River. As you near Jomsom, you will see the environment become more like a desert. Reaching Jomosm, a busy town that provides you with modern amenities and a variety of options of guesthouses, shops, and restaurants where you can relax and rest after a full day of trekking.
You will be making your journey from Jomsom to Tatopani on a local bus, where you can interact with the locals to get more knowledge about the area. Taking a drive from Jomsom to Tatopani is a perfect way to get a well-deserved experience as you will be passing alongside the Kali Gandaki River along witnessing some of the spectacular views of mountains, including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The road can be rough and unpaved in certain areas as it passes through mountainous terrain and river valleys. Your route passes through lush forests, rivers, waterfalls, and remote villages. Once you reach Tatopani, you can relax in the famous hot spring, interact with the locals, and see rural life in the Himalayas.
Today’s trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani is a scenic and moderately challenging journey that offers spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The route is well-established and has a mix of uphill and downhill sections. The starting trail of the trek includes ascending through dense rhododendrons and oak trees, offering a serene environment. Along the way, you will pass through small villages where you can interact with the locals for a better experience.
You will be hiking the Poon Hill early morning as you will be rewarded with breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The amazing view seen from the top makes your early morning hike worth the visit. Approaching Nayapul, you will be provided with lunch, and the drive back to Pokhara starts. The route is well-maintained, taking you through a winding and narrow road where you pass through small villages, terraced fields, and lush greenery. The road is paved, with some rough and muddy sections during rainy seasons. Once you arrive in Pokhara, a vibrant lakeside city, you can relax and enjoy after a full day of a hectic journey.
The journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu covers a distance of about 200 kilometers (124 miles), taking about 7 hours, depending on the road and traffic conditions. The route navigates through terraced fields and small villages along the Trishuli River. The most common route to Kathmandu is via the Prithvi Highway, which connects Pokhara and Kathmandu. As you near Kathmandu, your route passes through valleys, hills, and other stunning views of the Himalayas from a distance. The scenery changes to more urban areas with impressive surrounding hills. Reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you will rest and explore the nearby areas.

The Mesokanto La Pass is situated at an altitude of 5,350 meters, which includes a high risk of altitude sickness, traversing through thrilling trail conditions. However, with adequate acclimatization, hydration, and proper planning, the pass can be easily traversed safely.
Although you can trek the Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto La Pass on your own, it is strongly advised to hire a Guide or make your journey with a registered trekking agency for better arrangements of facilities.
