Overview

The Panch Pokhari Trek is an exhilarating journey to the impressive Five Sacred Lakes (Panch Pokhari), through the most remote, lesser-known, and off-the-beaten-path trek route in the Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal, located northeast of Kathmandu. This stunning Panch Pokhari Trek provides a unique blend of natural beauty, spiritual significance, and diverse cultural heritage. The Panch Pokhari is nestled in the foothills of the Jugal Himal and surrounded by Dorje Lhakp (6,966 m), Madiya (6,257 m), and Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), standing at 4100m above sea level. It is a relatively easy and short trek, but ideal for those seeking solitude and a deep connection with nature, and enjoying the magnificent mountain vista. This beautiful trek traverses through traditional Tamang and Sherpa Villages, dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo, alpine meadows, and rugged mountain terrain. Along the trail, trekkers encounter Buddhist monasteries, fluttering prayer flags, and vibrant local cultural villages. The major highlights of the trek are Panch Pokhari Lakes, a significant pilgrimage site, especially during Janai Purnima, when thousands of devotees visit. Not only for the locals, but it is an iconic destination for short adventure holiday seekers, including local and foreign travelers.
