Helambu Circuit Trek

Helambu Circuit Trek is one of the favorable short treks into the Langtang region of Nepal and is close to the main city of Kathmandu. It is a diverse trek to explore nature and culture together, making it an easy-going trek into the Himalayas for any age group and gender due to its low elevation and easy trail. Helambu Trek is not a mere hike into the Himalayas, as the region is filled with diverse vegetation, flora, and fauna. The trek to the Helambu will lead us toward the Tibetan dwellers on the lap of the Langtang Himalayan range. Their age-old custom, the ritual of Tibetan origin is one of the fascinating live glimpses throughout the trek, further leading towards the Melamchi Gaun to explore the Sherpa community of Tibetan origin to Sermathang for apple gardens. Mainly inhabited by the Tamang and Sherpa communities of Tibetan origin, Helambu has everything a hiker would prefer to explore, from lush green vegetation to the high Himalayas and different wildlife. Helambu trail will lead us towards the famous apple production of the region. This will be a trail towards Tibetan Buddhism in terms of religion, so trekkers can explore multiple monasteries, gompas, praying wheels, praying flags, and chortens throughout. The trail to Helambu Circuit starts from Sundarijal which is an hour's drive from the main city of Kathmandu. Passed by Shivapuri National Park, which is one of the famous water reservoirs for water supply into Kathmandu valley and also the main source of water for Bagmati and Bishnumati rivers in Kathmandu. Shivapuri National Park is a protected area of different flora and fauna and also a bird and butterfly-watching park. The trail will lead us toward diverse vegetation and a water reservoir in the Tamang village popular for marijuana plantations. Further climbing uphill one can explore rural life and the majestic Himalayas from Chisapani, a very popular hiking trail for Nagarkot. Passing by Chisapani, we will be entering the Helambu region with beautiful views of the snowcapped Himalayas from Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, and Ganesh Himal(7405m), Dorje Lhakpa(6990m), Langtang Lirung(7245m), and numerous unnamed peaks and old villages throughout. Helambu Circuit trail is not a mere hike to explore the Himalayas of Nepal, as the country, Nepal is blessed with an abundance of mountains still thousands to get named. The Helambu trail will bless any trekkers with a diversity of cultures along with nature. It is a diverse trekking trail with a different ethnic settlement from low altitude to high altitude and the trail can be diverted into different areas of the Langtang region. Starting our trek from Sundarijal will lead us towards Tharepati (3640m) which is the highest overnight elevation for the entire trek then we descend towards Melamchi Gaun, a very old Tibetan settlement village with ancient monasteries, Chorten, gompa, etc. Melamchi Gaun (village) is named after the famous snow-melted river of Langtang Himalayas which is the Melamchi River, we hike further uphill from Melamchi Gaun towards Sermathanga before descending to Melamchi Bazaar (market) to take a 4-hour drive to Kathmandu on our final day in public transportation smoothly and comfortably with the extraordinary views of the mountains, villages and many more.
